"Holders" is a commissioned work for the exhibition "Marginal Notes", curated by Ying Kwok, about different aspects of Hong Kong's Southern District.
The demolition of the former residence of Wong Chuk Hang Estate was completed in 2009. The wall of ventilation room in the corridor is made of latticed bricks. It is a certain partition, which clearly divides the inside and outside. It is also a configuration where light, airflow, peeping and speculation can exchange and penetrate through the holes. "Holders" refers to the lattice pattern to place the suction cups. The solid shadows are installed on the clear but impenetrable glass.
They are attached to the scenery, firmly holding on the frames.
