Inviting Haptic Collision to collaborate is based on my four viewings (#4-#7) of their performances and my comprehensive impression after writing textual records and short reviews. Although my work differs from theirs in terms of genre, our ideas are similar: we both depart from established external contexts and instead focus on the subtle aspects of things, eliciting the overflowing material elements of the subject and grasping the possible reconfiguration of images and rhythms within it.
I approach this residency project by considering it as a personal exhibition. I intertwine materials, textures, and forms to create multiple interpretations for public activities and the final exhibition. Additionally, facing a workspace beyond inertia, I contemplate directions that are difficult to achieve in my existing studio. Sound experimentation is one of these directions, and I hope to collaborate with Haptic Collision to initiate experimentation here, making it a starting point for this endeavor.
